Saurabh Srivastava is widely acknowledged in India and globally, as one of the architects of the Indian IT Industry and was presented an Award in recognition of this by Prime Minister Mr Modi last month. Active in public service, he sits on many Government boards /Committees such as National Innovation Council, Indo EU Round Table, Software Technology Parks of India, SEBI Committee on Alternative Investment Funds, CSIR Tech Ltd ( set up to commercialise technologies of govt funded labs).

He has founded several successful companies, taken some public, invested in over 50 startups and sits on the boards of leading Indian and global companies such as YES Bank, NAUKRI.com, Xchanging plc, Imperial College Business School Advisory Board, UK etc. He is a cofounder and past Chairman of NASSCOM and the Indian Venture Capital Association, as also on the National Executive Committee of FICCI and earlier, CII.

He has played a major role in building the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem, founding India’s first private sector VC Fund (which created India Bulls & Avendus ) and Indian Angel Network, the world’s largest angel group with 350 members, operations in 7 cities including London (soon in Israel and Singapore), a portfolio of over 80 companies and several successful exits. He brought TiE to India, served for 5 years on the Global Board and is Chairman Emeritus of TiE Delhi.

 

He has a Masters from Harvard University, B Tech from IIT Kanpur. Awards include “Distinguished Alumnus Award” from IITK, Lifetime Achievement Award from the IT Industry and Honorary Doctorate in Technology from the University of Wolverhampton, UK
